The ‘City View’ Hotel at 277 Brisbane Street, Ipswich, is being marketed by Morrie Marsden and Les Svensson on behalf of local business owners.
Designed by renowned architect George Brockwell Gill and built in 1908, the City View Hotel closed its public bar in December last year but has continued to operate its accommodation and function businesses.
Morrie Marsden said the hotel is still licenced and offers multiple opportunities for use subject to council approvals.

“The hotel is situated on a 1,444 sqm block in a high profile location at the junction of a major intersection overlooking the main thoroughfare of the Ipswich CBD and enjoys excellent exposure to large volumes of traffic.”
Les Svensson said the hotel building’s federation era characteristics are distinguishable by its iconic two storey octagonal tower.
“The verandahed building is in good condition is predominantly of brick construction with a recently replaced corrugated iron roof,” he said.
“The interior includes a grand timber stairway with balustrade, pressed metal ceilings, stained glass windows and arched hallways.
“The downstairs area consists of two separate function rooms with supporting bars, a large kitchen, bathroom facilities as well as store rooms and cold rooms in working order.
“Upstairs includes nine rooms currently used for accommodation and two other rooms as a manager’s residence which includes bathroom, kitchen and laundry facilities.”
